Prunotto Barbera Barbera d'Alba Pian Romualdo 1997

Winemaker's Notes:

“This is one of the greatest and iconic bottlings of classic Barbera and belongs besides the likes of Giacomo Conterno’s Barbera d’Alba. The historic cru Barbaera from the prized Pian Romualdo cru with its rich, chalky limestone soil is one known for its elegance and longevity; in fact, we just tasted the 1985 and the wine still had plenty of life to it. It is a Barbera that is capable of aging two to three decades. The wine displays Barbera’s signature acidity, blackberry, bright fruit and spice – what makes this wine so unique is its purity and smoothness. With age, the wine develops classic tertiary notes that emphasize earth…Zachys, October, 2014”
