Pruett Taylor's Reserve Estate Syrah 2013

Member Review by EMark:

Quite muted red berries on the tip of the tongue. A little bit of bitterness around the edges and the tip of the tongue. A retro-nasal sensation that suggests eucalyptus. Surprisingly light on tannins. Nothing really bad about this wine, but, also, not, particularly, memorable.

Very dark in the glass—not quite Petite Sirah dark, but still. It even has a dark nose—dark fruits, prunes, some mustiness. On the tongue I’m getting some blackberry, but it’s not really much of a hit. There is more earthiness or dustiness than fruit. However, this wine is a mouthful. Very full bodied. I like it, but it loses points because of alcoholic taste on the rear palate.
