Provenance Wines Shiraz 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

The color is a brilliant ruby red. A complex bouquet inclusive of white pepper, Dutch liquorice and a cool climate meaty note is deftly supported by a clove-like oak influence. When tasted a velvety attack of rich flavour is true to the bouquet, carrying across the palate in a supple manner. Elegance is a hallmark trait of great Geelong Shiraz and this wine delivers on that front. Balanced fine-grained tannin and natural acid combine well with the long, persistently flavoured finish. Enjoy with roasted meats, barbecue dishes, casseroles, stews, smoked hams and hard cheeses.

In August 2002 we acquired the winery known formerly as Chateau Beaucanon, located on Highway 29, for our home in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. After extensive remodeling and refurbishing of the property, we opened our tasting room, featuring a floor made of staves from our own oak barrels, in October 2003. Read less
