Provenance Napa Merlot 2009
Provenance Napa Merlot opens with aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate and blackberry intertwined with hints of chocolate cherry liqueur, mineral and cinnamon. The velvety flavors fan out across the palate with more red berry fruit, and then pick up nutmeg and malted chocolate notes on the lingering finish. 018138567029
A very big and boldly structured merlot. Has some rich, savory roasted meat and smoky tones. Has a very rustic quality and lacks a little finesse, but it's tasty and enjoyable.

The word 'Provenance' (rhymes with renaissance) is derived from the French language, and means "origin," or "source." A provenance is the record of ownership of a piece of art from its creation to the present. Our name reflects our provenance.
Wine Tasting notesA medium ruby in color, the wine opens to lush red currant, blackberry and black cherry aromas, with hints of pepper and black olive evident as well. On the palate, these same flavors mingle with clove and spice, finishing with notes of cranberry and pastry crust. A long, lingering finish makes this very attractive for youthful consumption. As with any classic Merlot, thanks to the integrated tannins this wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for 5 years. Lovely on its own, it pairs beautifully with veal roast, coq au vin and subtle, hard cheeses.
