Prosecco DOC 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Prosecco is a native vine in eastern Veneto, where it is very widespread, above all in the provinces of Treviso and Belluno. Here it is grown in the hills near to the Alps in lime and moraine soils. The Adriatic Sea is not so far away and this plays a part in the excellent light and afternoon winds. The hills and the Alps protect the vines against the frozen north winds and they also make sure it is cool at night, even in the hottest summers. These are the ideal conditions for a precious grape, filled with inviting aromas and a cool, fresh flavor.

Giordano Wines, online sales of Italian red and white wines and gastronomic specialties. The Giordano family has been producing wine in Valle Talloria since 1900. At Giordano the art of producing fine wine is deeply rooted in a tradition which has been proudly passed on from father to son for over 100 years. For four generations this tradition has been fuelled by a love for the land, a passion for one’s work, a respect for the lessons only experience can teach as well as by a quiet satisfaction in one’s achievements. Each generation has contributed its own particular mark of personality and innovation without ever forsaking its roots. Using state of the art techniques and equipment offersus the opportunity of being able to create an ever widerrange of products. At the same time this has allowed us to bring the quality of our products to the highest level, a fact that is widely appreciated both in Italy and abroad. Yet the people who work at the Giordano winery have remained proudly attached to the rural tradition in which this business is steeped jealously guarding thoserituals , that have always gone into making good wine, remaining true to their hearts and true to nature.   Read less

Tasting Notes:

You can admire the bubbles that enhance the fresh greenish-gold color and the bouquet of wild flowers with a base note of pears. The light, refreshing flavor has a delicate fruity aftertaste.
