Prinz Von Hessen Riesling 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"Life is too short to drink bad wine", Goethe's words were written in what is now Prinz von Hessen's Hasensprung vineyard and are as good a motto as any for a winery that prides itself on its centuries old tradition of making fine Rieslings. The estate is literally one of the most aristocratic in Germany. The estate has holdings in some of the best vineyards in the Rheingau with 20 of the 30ha of vines planted on Erstes Gewachs - or First Growth - sites. The wines are drier than those typically found in the Mosel; steely and minerally with perfumed fruit and perfect balance between the high acidity and small levels of residual sugar. Riesling 'H' is a typical Rheingau Riesling with a lively pale-yellow colour and light green reflexes. It is a juicy wine with a fresh, clear and fruity smell which reminds a little bit of apple, citrus, decent grapefruit and in the background a little peach. The flavour of this wine has a light residual sweetness and a clear structure. It is a perfect accompanying wine for any kind of dishes.
