Principiano Barolo Boscareto 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes The color is deep ruby red. The nose is persistent with powerful aromas such as licorice, spices, minerals, vanilla, and ripe black fruits. Big bodied with decisive tannins, but well-balanced by the richness of the aromas and great complexity that increases as the wine opens up in the bottle and the glass. It is incredibly long and tangy on the finish. For better enjoyment, this wine should be uncorked a few hours before the meal. Perfect with roasted and stewed red meats as well as with hard cheeses from raw milk such as cheddar and provolone.

The 2004 Barolo Boscareto is a more vibrant and larger-scaled wine than the Serralunga. It presents lovely harmony in an expression of dark cherries, plums, spices, toasted oak and menthol, showing terrific overall balance and well-integrated tannins... Robert Parker. Principiano's 2004 Barolo Serralunga is surprisingly soft and ethereal for a wine from this village in 2004. Medium in body, it reveals macerated cherries, smoke, earthiness and licorice, with excellent length on the palate and an approachable, fines... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
