Primus the Blend Veramonte Colchagua Valley 2010
Franciscan Napa Cabernet Deep garnet. A rich bouquet of dark cherry, cocoa, clove, plum, tobacco and toasted oak, with delicate notes of coffee and truffle. Layered and complex. Rich and full on the palate with a supple mouthfeel and opulent layers of plum, cherry, anise, and mocha. Smooth and concentrated, the wine exhibits richly woven texture with dark, dense fruit on the long finish. 083085200220

Nothing very special, but nothing too bad either, more like something to depend on from a wine list when nothing else seems appropriate for a specific experience...similar to the posted Wine Maker's notes: '...full-bodied; layered with blackberry, cherry, dried plums, and a hint of cocoa...'
Needed to be decanted.. but opened up quickly. Very nice red blend.

86% merlot 8% cabernet franc 6% cabernet sauvignon. Forward yet restrained aromas of blackberry and stone leap out of the glass. On the palate there is a core of blackberry jam with dark chocolate that melds into an almost creamy viscous texture. But this beautifully poised wine maintains finesse and does not become overripe. The great length is beautifully proportioned and ends with tannins which have presence without being overbearing in texture. An artisanal Pomerol and a great expression of the vintage. Best in 20 years. Chuck Hayward.
Dark ruby-red. A pungent floral quality lifts the aromas of black cherry, plum, espresso and licorice. Stewed plum and dark currant flavors show a restrained sweetness, with elevated acidity and mounting dry tannins cutting off the finish. In a ripe style but turns a bit dry and alcoholic at the back.

Shows dusty dried herb, cedar, tobacco leaf and dried berry notes. Features a chewy mouthfeel and firm, extracted tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2024.
The 2010 Magnificat is composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. It possesses a deep purple color along with sweet creme de cassis, charcoal and background oak characteristics. There is no trace of herbaceousness in this full-bodied, opulent, nicely textured, chewy, long 2010. It is an impressive effort from Franciscan.
The chateau produces wine in vintages that favor Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, or Merlot. 2010 as well as 2009 are vintages where the Merlot clearly excelled and became the preponderance of the blend. The assemblage in this vintage is 86... Jeff Leve. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2010 Vieux Chateau Certan 1500ml
Wow! When Robert Parker says this is one of the best vintages of Vieux Telegraphe he has ever tasted - and he has sampled more than 30 vintages of this wine - you listen! It's here and it's limited, get it while you can.
