Food Pairings for Primum Malbec
This is one of the best wines for the price that I've ever come across. Bold from the moment the bottle is opened, with complex yet smooth flavors. It goes with almost any food as well. Great value for an outstanding wine.

External Reviews for Primum Malbec
Primum Malbec 2004 - 92 Points, Wine Advocate/ The 2004 Primum Malbec is opaque purple-colored, it has a superb aromatic array of wood smoke, pencil lead, crushed stone, violets, black cherry, and black raspberry. The wine’s opulent personality easily conceals enough tannin to carry the wine through another 3-5 years of development.
Primum Malbec 2004 - 92 Points & Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast/ “Year by year, Salentein’s top wines are improving. Primum is truly a fine wine, right up there with the country’s best. It’s harmonious and inviting, with cola, mineral, floral notes and honest black fruit aromas and flavors. The feel is secure and tight but also well balanced, with a touch of molasses but mostly just deep, driving black fruit. Muscular, intense and long on the finish.”
Malbec Reserve 2008 - 89 Points, eRobertParker.com/ Deep color, slightly reticent aromatics, dense and layered on the palate, excellent length.
/ Full bodied with aromas and flavors of plum, blackberry, and some smoke; big and plush with serious tannins and notes of coffee and tobacco in the long finish. Charcuterie platter.
Primum Malbec 2005 - 90 Points/ The 2005 Primum Malbec (100%) was aged for 18 months in new French oak prior to bottling without filtration. A glass-coating opaque purple, it offers up an expressive bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, incense, and black cherry. Made in an elegant style (despite its 15.4% alcohol), the wine has excellent grip, savory, spicy black fruit flavors, several years of cellaring potential, and excellent length.
Malbec Reserve 2007 - 4 Stars & No. 78 on The Best-Value 100 list, Decanter/ Juicy dark berry fruit, succulent tannins, good concentration. Elegant, grows on you...
Malbec Reserve 2007 - 89 Points, Wine Enthusiast./ Warm dark fruit aromas of blueberry are accented by rubber and earth. The palate is deep and racy, with no dead weight and good flavors of berry, cassis, spice and chocolate. Bright in feel, focused and just oaky and dry enough to not be jammy and soft.
