Primitivo Li Veli 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

This lively Primitivo, a variety native to Puglia on Italy's Adriatic coast (and a supposed cousin of Zinfandel), is very fresh in style and opens with alluring notes of chocolate covered cherries. Packed with juicy red cherry fruit and baking spices, this medium-bodied wine gets a jolt of vibrancy from bright acidity and ends with plush, finely-grained tannins on the finish. A great everyday match for high acid foods - think dishes that incorporate tomatoes, vinegar, lemon, etc.
