Pride Mtn. Vyd. Reserve Claret 2002
From Bob Foley: A Superman’s Merlot! A 2/3 - 1/3 blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and just a splash of Petit Verdot, the depth of color makes for a virtually opaque appearance. Ripe red cherry, cassis and a trace of cedar grace the aromatic medley. Sweet rich textures flood the palate with berry, chocolate and espresso flavors framed by fine mouthwatering tannins. These flavors linger in an exceptional finish that extends for several minutes.
One of the best Napa Cab blends I've ever had. The slight cinnamon flavor just about rocked my world.

...Knockout nose combines currant cedar licorice and tobacco. Large-scaled thick and rich with compelling density and sweetness. This has superb depth and an intriguing minerality... Stephen Tanzers IWC.
The 2002 Reserve Claret possesses a lush texture as well as a huge upfront flamboyant bouquet of vanilla spice box blueberries white chocolate licorice and toasty oak. This 400-case blend of two-thirds Merlot and one-third Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant yet incredibly rich dense and seamless. It is drinking beautifully and should continue to do so for 12-14 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
A seductive style that provides a rich mix of ripe juicy wild berry and blackberry fruit with an overlay of smoky toasty oak. But on the finish it comes together nicely with the fruit pushing past the oak flavors caressed by supple tannins... Wine Spectator.
