What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Winemakers Notes

Very ripe, blackberry and currant aromas with a trace of vanilla. Broad, expansive and even across the mid-palate, with a candy-like middle and chewy tannins. Soft edges and tremendous length. Merlot for Cab people!

Good full red. Redcurrant, tobacco, melted chocolate, mint and spicy oak on the nose. Sweet and fresh, with youthfully reticent flavors of plum, mocha and sweet herbs. Finishes with big, dusty but ultimately fine tannins. Plenty of stuffing here read more...

A luminescent, cherry red color. Rich aromas rise from the glass, first of plum, licorice and vanilla but then an underlying hint of forest floor which adds an inviting complexity to the bouquet. A rich, brooding and palate coating wine that tastes of raisins and black currant jam with a seductive cinnamon, chocolate finish that goes on and on. Chewy yet easy drinking and surprisingly refreshing. This is not a wine for the timid, this is decadence in a bottle.

A fantastic wine! Starts out with a beautiful mineral nose of plums, dark fruit and has a menthol edge. It really comes over as mineral, more concentrated mountain fruit. Very tasty and has a great tobacco finish. I really really liked this wine - its, as they say, a Merlot, for Cab lovers!
