Pride Mountain Cabernet Franc(2000)

As Thom Elkjer of Wine & Spirits Magazine said of our 1999 Cab Franc, “If more Cab Franc tasted like this, Merlot would be in trouble.” While long known to Francophiles as an essential element in Bordeaux blends, we have been delighted with the sub-following that our estate grown Cabernet Franc has developed as a varietal wine among our mailing list customers. The perennial sweetheart among our spring wines, it is hands down our Cab Franc that breaks the most hearts when it sells out. One of the last vineyards to ripen in 2000, this vintage has once again given us true reward for our patience. read more...

($52; blended with 25% merlot) Good medium ruby. Floral aromas of black cherry, violet, dark chocolate, minerals and tar. Sweet and soft on entry, then flavorful in the middle palate, with moderate texture and weight. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins, good length and an exotic suggestion of pineapple.
