What to Expect
Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

What an interesting wine! Nose is full of herbal aromas without being herbaceous! Rosemary and bayleaf prickle the nose followed by blackberry (not crackberry!). The mid-palate fills with broad sweet dark fruit. The tannins get a little darker and more bitter on the finish with a nice mild acid at the end
