User Reviews for Prager Grüner Veltliner Hinter Der Burg Federspiel

Winemaker's Notes:

The region of Wachau ranks among the most charming and ancient cultural historical landscapes of Austria. Weißenkirchen, a town of distinct character, lies nestled among unique terraced gardens that guard over the valley land and people with unerring vigilance. Ilse and Toni Bodenstein have been responsible for the estate's quality since the early nineties. Their central philosophy: The wines should reflect the vineyard sites that grew them. Toni Bodenstein dedicates much effort to do justice to the diversity of contrasts found in the smallest of areas, the unique soil formations and the subtle microclimate. Therefore, the wines made from the grapes grown in the various terroirs have their own unmistakable character, however fine distinctions between them may be. The vineyard and cellar tasks are performed according to traditional methods, paired with the necessary innovation, and always aspiring to produce the best possible quality. Gruner Veltliner Federspiel Hinter der Burg is a wonderfully balanced and delicate wine. With aromas of white pepper, floral perfumes and a mouthcoating and white pepper-dusted palate impression. It is a most refined and elegant white wine and on the finish there are notes of beetroot and lentils. A wonderful wine to pair with parsnip salad, roast beetroot or vegetable lasagne.
