lush, ripe fruit harmoniously balanced with bright acidity and supple tannins. This is voluptuous, resonant Volnay, seductive, chewy Santenay, and eternal grand cru Burgundy.

Winemaker's Notes:

89-92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): Deep ruby-red. Slightly medicinal aromas of black cherry and licorice. Sweet, ripe and firm-edged; less silky than the Caillerets but nicely delineated and plenty ripe. Good balance of intense dark fruits and serious tannins on the lively, persistent back end. This north-facing vineyard close to Pommard typically yields a harder, more masculine style of Volnay--a tendency that's nicely tempered by the style of 2011. This cooler site often benefits from warmer vintages. (Jan/Feb 2013)
