External Reviews for Pouilly Fumé Petit Fumé
Made from old vines, this ripe, intensely fruity wine has flavors of green plums and gooseberries to go with a firm, tight structure that promises a couple of years aging.
This is a nice nervy, crackling version, with strong chive, gooseberry and flint flavors that race through the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2008.
This is really strong, with an intense lemon verbena- and lime-filled palate that bursts forth, pushed by mouthwatering acidity and a long, straw- and flint-infused finish. Offers nice weight for the vintage. Drink now.
Zurecht geniesst der Sancerre derzeit hohes Ansehen, ein sehr kompletter Wein von der markanten Nase bis zum Abgang
This is a delightful expression of fresh, minerally fruit and crisp acidity. Sancerre is Sauvignon Blanc at its best.
The 2006 Sancerre Les Grands Groux displays lime and grapefruit zest on the nose and corresponding citrus on the palate, accompanied by subtle and attractive hints of mint, scallops and honey. The wine finishes with excellent focus for the vintage and an invigorating combination of zesty citrus and palpable mineral suggestions.
The 2005 Sancerre Les Grands Groux smells bracingly of salted lime, oregano and pennyroyal. Satisfyingly juicy, chalk- and herb-tinged, yet for all of its brightness of flavor curiously soft in texture, it finishes like a refreshing herbal inhalation.
The aromatic and floral character coming from blending to these soils contribute to the harmony of that wine going on mainly with shellfish, fish, goat's cheeses (specially with Crottin de Chavignol).
