Poppy Pinot Noir 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Delivers a bright red color with intense aromas of damp earth and raspberry. Red cherry, raspberry and allspice dominate the front palate as mushroom and alittle toasted oak are present on a long, velvety finish. Try with mushroom or truffle risotto, coq au vin or game dishes like rabbit loin.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Fair for price, but not great. It has a salty barbeque, almost bacon-like flavor. Would pair well with the right dish but not appropriate to drink solo.
