Poplar Grove Winery Syrah 2009
Member Review by zufrieden:
Cedar-infused red fruit greet the nose on this wild, muscular red. There are notes of cranberry, cherry cola and cake spice; amazingly, this Naramata wine is very much like a good Hermitage or Cote-Rotie; there is good grip and structure for up to 5 years aging, but I cannot wait given the smooth balance of this wine as it is today. One of the best Syrah wines ever from the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. 92 points. Look to the Côte-Rôtie for better...
Add winemaker's notes
Poplar Grove began as the quintessential garage winery, where the most important asset was a shared obsession to produce world class wines. Over the past ten years, our winery has helped bring the Okanagan Valley to the wine world's attention. We did it by consistently producing Impressive wines from our Naramata Bench Estate. We are now entering the era of re-inventlon for Poplar Grove.
