Pope Valley Zinfandel Port 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

The fruit for this wine was selected for the port because of its intense flavor profile. This wine was crafted in the traditional Portuguese style and aged for 5 years in French oak barrels. Before primary fermentation finished, the wine was fortified with brandy to preserve some of the natural sugar from the grapes.

This is one of my favorite ports rom the Napa Valley. It's very smooth. At Pope Valley Winery they leave the port in the barrel and just bottle as needed. At $20 a bottle (through the winery) it's a steal! Try is with some brownines!
