Founded in 1970 in Oregon's lush Willamette Valley, Ponzi Vineyards is internationally acclaimed for producing some of the World's finest Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and White Riesling, as well as Arneis and Dolcetto, two rare Italian varietals. For nearly four decades, wine pioneers Dick and Nancy Ponzi have set the standard for Oregon's viticultural innovation while maintaining an unwavering commitment to a tradition of winemaking excellence. Today, this philosophy is carried on by the Ponzi Family's second generation: Winemaker Luisa Ponzi, Director of Sales and Marketing Maria Ponzi Fogelstrom and Director of Operations Michel Ponzi. All 120 acres of family-owned vineyards in the Northern Willamette Valley are LIVE Certified Sustainable, the world's highest standard for sustainable viticulture. Ponzi Vineyards continues to hold long-term contracts with many of the best growers in the region. Driven by the concept that the variety must match the terroir and climate, Ponzi Vineyards continues to set the standard for Oregon and remains at the forefront of the nation's top wine producers. Today, the winery and vineyards are operated under the same guiding principles with second-generation winemaker Luisa Ponzi at the helm. Luisa has produced the wines since 1993, using her classic Burgundian style. Read less

Lots of strawberry perfume and hints of spice with some raspberry. Very light, easy palate of the aforementioned berries. Nice acidity, low tannin, fruit forward. Finishes on a light wood note. - Tasted at Ponzi 8/17/10

Raspberry and floral flavors with fine tannin and a nice bright minerality. It has a pretty, cherry nose. Good spice comes on the back end and nice, ripe berry on the finish. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 7/17/10

Full of milk chocolate, star anise and ripe raspberries on the palate. The tannins are soft and approachable. A great find from Oregon.

The nose shows vanilla, spice and red fruit leading to a mouth of warm spice notes and blueberry. The finish is long with soft tannins.

90 points - Wine Spectator"Light in texture, displaying a gravelly edge to the raspberry and floral flavors, with fine tannins and a minerally lift to the finish. Drink now through 2018. (7/31/10)"Producer notes"This perfumed nose shows vanilla, spice and red fruit leading to a mouth of warm spice notes and blueberry. The finish is long with soft tannins."
