Today, this philosophy is carried on by the Ponzi Family's second generation: Winemaker Luisa Ponzi, Director of Sales and Marketing Maria Ponzi Fogelstrom and Director of Operations Michel Ponzi. All 120 acres of family-owned vineyards in the Northern Willamette Valley are LIVE Certified Sustainable, the world's highest standard for sustainable viticulture. Ponzi Vineyards continues to hold long-term contracts with many of the best growers in the region. Driven by the concept that the variety must match the terroir and climate, Ponzi Vineyards continues to set the standard for Oregon and remains at the forefront of the nation's top wine producers. Flat, not good. Must have been a bad bottle because this was very good when I tasted it at the winery.

My husband and I found this wine totally by accident on a trip to Oregon wine country in 2007. It was amazing! We were able to score four bottles at a little wine tasting venue in the airport and they brought it through security for us. Holding it still but will probably open this weekend! :-)

Lithe and juicy, with pretty blackberry, boysenberry and plum flavors that dance over ultrafine tannins. Finishes with real finesse. Drink now through 2012.

Complex scents suggests water, dried cherry, raspberry and baking chocolate. In the mouth, itrsquo;s tight, compact and stylish. I love the details, the hints of earth and bark, and the rich vein of berry. The barrel flavors are well integrated and matched the firm tannins.
