A hint of stem greets the nose along with peppery floral notes and flecks of almost flinty minerality. This is bright and juicy in the mouth with slightly creamy flavors of cranberry and raspberry that are streaked with sharp mineral notes and lightly stemmy tannins that add a bit of dried herb character. There's a real pop of fruit on the back end, with the tannins serving to keep everything balanced. The finish is long and slightly tacky with all the fruit. Very easy to drink but a bit simple. Still, this should be very popular. 88pts

Big black currant nose and barrely aromas - lots of oak and vanilla, but fairly well balanced against the black fruit. Body is dry with good tannic structure, a little bit hot on the finish.

dark cherry, raspberry fruit with a bit of earthiness and subtle red spice lingering as well. a bit bigger for a Pinot, rustic characteristics coarse through the red fruit, ending with that hint of pepper spice.

Licorice, pepper on the nose. Well balanced black cherry and acidity.

Light body- if you prefer red I recommend this for a summer evening. Earthyness with ripe cherries and black berries on the palate, with a tiny bit of spiciness. Great value buy! To see the winemaker speak about this wine visit: http://bit.ly/KyXyL4

Scents of cola and spice yield to deep black cherry accents. There is such purity of fruit at first that the wine feels simple, but with air the black cherry is grounded by forest floor notes and kissed by oak, which gives the flavors length and ballast. Itandrsquo;s a packed wine, and needs cellaring; wait a year or two and serve with pork loin.

Bright ruby. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of black raspberry, rose and spicecake, with a smoky nuance that builds with air. Juicy red and dark berry flavors are nicely concentrated and supported by a spine of gentle acidity. The smoky note repeats on the sweet, dark berry-dominated finish. This will be drinkable soon and already shows well with decanting.

Light and fragile, with pretty raspberry and cherry flavors on a transparent frame, lingering nicely on the open-textured finish. Drink now through 2015.

A delightful nose that doesnandrsquo;t push too hard brings strawberries, spiced cherries and a whiff of licorice to the front. The flavors follow, touched ever so lightly with a hint of leather. It turns a little sharp and herbal in the finish, but that may simply be a sign of its youth.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley was sourced mainly from the Chehalem Mountain AVA. Made from older vines than the Tavola, it is darker in color, more perfumed, and more structured. Even so, it is a laid back, easy-to-understand Pinot with good balance and length that will provide enjoyment over the next 6andndash;8 years.

2009 vintage red Pinot Noir Wine by Ponzi from Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

Tasting Notes:

Spiced cherry, cinnamon, clove and graham cracker aromatics lead to a soft entry of licorice and peppercorn notes. The mid palate sweetness finishes with dusty firm tannins.
