Pommery Champagne Blend Champagne 2000

External Review:

Rich and verging on full-bodied, suggesting a high proportion of Pinot Noir. The aromas and flavors are broad, with toast and berry notes allied to a firm backbone of acidity. Ideal for food and aging. Drink now through 2003.

Verging on full-bodied, with a rich texture, this offers pencil shavings, honey and vanilla notes that last through the expansive finish. Therersquo;s a good underpinning of acidity, too. Drink now.

Pale straw color. Fresh and lively on the nose, with aromas of green apple, Anjou pear and bright citrus fruits. Quite lively on the palate, showing brisk citrus and refreshingly bitter quinine flavors on a taut, elegant frame. Fills out nicely on the back end, which is supple and round.

Pale color. Complex mineral, flint and charry aromas, with fruity lemon and orange notes. Fresh and nicely balanced, with medium dosage. Bright, clean finish.

Floral notes rise above the toastiness of this wine, its fine leesiness creating a rich textural depth. A mouthwatering brut for poached shrimp.

The tight scents of minerals, green apple and flavors lend this a Riesling-like freshness. Itrsquo;s lean and aggressively dry, then the finish lasts with a red fruit perfume. A solid Champagne, with the density to match halibut or crab.

Nutty and rich, this nonvintage Brut has leesy flavors of wheat. A soft-textured wine for aperitifs.
