External Reviews for Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
/ Deep, bright ruby red with aromas of black cherry, black plum and violets. Medium-full with very good to excellent concentration. Great mid-palate and depth of fruit- this is a wine that coats the palate and is a mouthful of wine. Great intensity! Lively acidity and nicely integrated oak. Best in 7-10 years. This is the finest Vino Nobile di Montepulciano I have tasted from Poliziano and it is clear the proprietor Federico Carletti is not resting on his laurels as the finest estate in Montepulciano.
/ Cherry fruit and vanilla are the main themes of this saturated, ruby-colored Vino Nobile. There are distant tones of natural rubber, caramel and nutmeg, but they are really just afterthoughts that add interesting highlights overall. The wine has soft cherry fruit and offers more meat and pulp in the mouth that help drive its long finish. The estate is managed by the charismatic Frederico Carletti, who is in the process of opening a wine tourism center.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2006 - 88 Points, Wine Spectator/ Rich and ripe on the nose, with lots of plum and raspberry character. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Lots of new wood. But juicy and flavorful.
/ The 2005 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a medium-bodied offering with sweet dark fruit, spices and toasted oak.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2007 - 91 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Poliziano consistently delivers smooth and rich expressions that show the best of Montepulciano. Aromas include black berry, cherry, smoked spice, leather and moist tobacco. Pair this wine with stewed veal.
/ Toasted wood, characteristic Sangiovese cherry notes, distinctive sharp minerality, all nicely balanced; this is a great example of its breed.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2007 - 88 pts, Wine Spectator/ A fruity red, with slightly austere, chewy tannins. Medium-bodied, with good ripe fruit underneath it all. Should soften with bottle age.
