Polar Grove Viognier 2011

Member Review by zufrieden:

This viognier - though soft smooth and thirst-quenching is a little dilute for my tastes. There are the usual varietal markers such as peach, apricot, lychee and ginger spice on the nose with a muted sense of same on the palate. Needs a bit more fruit intensity to improve. Still, a tasty accompaniment to Chinese fare. 86 points

Poplar Grove Winery:
Poplar Grove began as the quintessential garage winery, where the most important asset was a shared obsession to produce world class wines. Over the past ten years, our winery has helped bring the Okanagan Valley to the wine world's attention. We did it by consistently producing Impressive wines from our Naramata Bench Estate. We are now entering the era of re-inventlon for Poplar Grove.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
