Pol Roger Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

"It is the balance that stars with this wine. The fruit, acidity and mineral texture are held together in maturing harmony. Still young, the wine is still in the fruity spectrum and yet is very ready to drink now. The acidity and the link between the soft dosage and freshness are all in place. Drink now and until 2026." - Wine Enthusiast, Cellar Selection *(95 Points)*

This great Champagne was created in homage to Sir Winston Churchill, a great devotee to Pol Rogers particular style and make of Champagne. Pol Roger is one of the few remaining great family-owned Champagne houses. An unrivalled reputation within the trade has been guaranteed by the consistent excellence of the wines: a tribute to the amazing diligence of the selection of the cuvees directed by members of the Pol Roger and de Billy families, in conjunction with the Président du Directoire, Patrice Noyelle, and the Chef des Caves, Dominique Petit. With stock equivalent to five years normal sales, a major investment programme, and among the coolest and deepest cellars in Epernay, the Pol Roger range of White Champagnes offers a glimpse of the sublime. Grapes : 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay Region : France / Champagne / Champagne AOC Notes : Intense, creamy mousse with a floral and elegant bouquet with delightful notes of dried fruits. A flavour which is stylish, rich and broad with incredible balance between the delicate Chardonnay and rich forces of the Pinot Noir ABV : 12.5% Suitable for Vegetarians

The structure of the 1996 vintage is softened by a fine, silky mousse in this intensely wrought bubbly. Fresh, with citrus, berry, nut and coffee aromas and flavors and a rounded finish. Drink now through 2015. 500 cases imported. Bright gold with a

Very tightly wound and racy, this packs citrus, hazelnut and vanilla pastry flavors into its medium-bodied frame. Well-integrated and dense, this has a long life ahead. Excellent lingering finish. Best from 2005 through 2015.(WS)
