Complex on the nose with layers of blanched and raw nuts, white mushroom, grass, pineapple, lime and almond nougat with a hint of flintiness. A little sweet one entry, this is rich and creamy with a lovely lushness to it and early apricot fruit. The acidity pops on the back end, bringing the pineapple and lemon fruit flavors to the fore. The finish is subtle and long, spicy with a tangy minerality. I like this very much. 92pts

This has to be one of the nicest most refreshing NV Champagne's I've had. The particluar bottle drank had been ageing in the sideboard for almost 2 years so it hasn't come straight off the supermarket shelf but the flavour is pretty loud, full of life. Pretty amber in colour, the chardonnay is fairly obvious here (the tropical fruit flavour comes to the front before the biscuit/brioche takes over) and bubbles aplenty. Really nice.

Has everything I usually want in a Champagne - nice amount of sweetness and zest. Perfectly balanced flavours.

Have never been a big champagne drinker except on special occasions. Thought this paired nicely with the oysters we devoured. A little sweet but not overwhelming.

The best soft, and easy flowing champange ever.

Really lets get serious you would have to be a nut to rate this over 2, its just rubbish. Its like most of the snob value champagnes full of acid and bad flavours. I wouldnt pay for this, not even $5 its just not a level I would lower myself to just for the sake of saying look at me. gorgeous flavors I had to laugh when someone wote gorgeous flavors, only if you think dog spit sounds gorgeous.

The "white foil". Really let's get serious. You would have to be a nut to rate this over 3 (I rated this a 3 partly because I liked the white foil). The acidity is a bit too overwhelming. I can't believe the royal wedding chose this exact champagne (as the news said after the wedding). They should really have chosen a nice vintage of Dom Perignon (as the news said before the wedding). Medium gold colour with a very fine bead; relatively firmly structured; flowery, sophisticated toasty aromas with plenty of spice and hints gooseberry and sour green apple (acidity is a bit too overwhelming); just enough sweetness to add some charm and a long and flavourful finish.

Rich notes of pear pastry, toasted almond, smoke and honey are well-meshed with and balanced by fresh notes of lemon peel, quince and grated ginger, all knit with the finely tuned acidity and creamy mousse. Drink now through 2017.

Medium gold color, with a lively, energetic mousse. Toasty, leesy and loaded with orchard fruits on the nose, which also shows a waxy lanolin note reminiscent of Vouvray. Full and rich in the mouth, with flavors of buttered toast and ripe apple that are nicely supported by solid, harmonious acidity. Broad through the finish and long, with a late note of sweet pear.

The NV Brut Extra Cuvée de Réserve is a pleasing mid-weight effort. The wine shows attractive floral aromas and focused fruit with excellent poise and balance. The Brut Extra Cuvée de Réserve is equal parts Pinot Noir Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Anticipated maturity: 2008–2010.

One of the great nonvintage Champagnes, this is a wine with considerable bottle age, full of toasty flavors. With its gooseberry and apple fruit flavors, it is still fresh, but its great character comes from its supreme elegance.

A classic from Chardonnay grapes. Pol Roger remains among the smaller of the great Champagne houses in France and uncompromising in its unwillingness to release wines on to the market before they are fully mature. Pol Roger is one of the few remaining great family-owned Champagne houses. An unrivalled reputation within the trade has been guaranteed by the consistent excellence of the wines: a tribute to the amazing diligence of the selection of the cuvees directed by members of the Pol Roger and de Billy families, in conjunction with the President du Directoire, Patrice Noyelle, and the Chef des Caves, Dominique Petit. With stock equivalent to five years normal sales, a major investment programme, and among the coolest and deepest cellars in Epernay, the Pol Roger range of White Champagnes offers a glimpse of the sublime. Grapes: 33% Pinot Noir 33% Pinot Meunier 33% Chardonnay Region: France / Champagne / Champagne AOC Notes: Ripe, floral nose followed by a subtle sweetness which is offset by lively, natural acidity. Perfected suited as an accompaniment to sweet food. ABV: 12.00%

The "White Foil" blend is traditionally composed from around 30 still base wines, drawn from different vineyard sites, grape varieties and vintage years. The blend contains approximately one third each of the classic grape varieties of Champagne: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay
