Pol Roger Champagne Blend Champagne Brut Réserve 2011
The Brut Non Vintage blend is traditionally composed from about 30 to 35 still base wines, drawn from different vineyard sites, grape varieties and vintage years. It usually contains wines of at least two vintages, often three or four. Reserve wines compose between 20-30% of the traditional blend. The Brut NV is never sold until the youngest component is at least three years old, which gives it more character and body. Pale gold with a very fine bead; flowery, delicately toasty aroma with fruit and complexity; creamy, beautifully balanced with a dry, harmonious finish.

Editorial Reviews for Pol Roger Champagne Blend Champagne Brut Réserve
Complex on the nose with layers of blanched and raw nuts, white mushroom, grass, pineapple, lime and almond nougat with a hint of flintiness. A little sweet one entry, this is rich and creamy with a lovely lushness to it and early apricot fruit. The acidity pops on the back end, bringing the pineapple and lemon fruit flavors to the fore. The finish is subtle and long, spicy with a tangy minerality. I like this very much. 92pts
Picked up this millésime pink Champagne at a large discount so gave it a go. Nose of lingenberry, pincherry and strawberry, this wine has somewhat weak effervescence (sometimes a trademark of this colour wine). Good Pinot characteristics of stem, strawberry and even leather, but bubbles dissipate quickly. Good acidity for light food - even Crustum Etruscum, but lacking a bit of elegance. Fine, but drink now. 88 points.
Four and a half glasses
This has to be one of the nicest most refreshing NV Champagne's I've had. The particluar bottle drank had been ageing in the sideboard for almost 2 years so it hasn't come straight off the supermarket shelf but the flavour is pretty loud, full of life. Pretty amber in colour, the chardonnay is fairly obvious here (the tropical fruit flavour comes to the front before the biscuit/brioche takes over) and bubbles aplenty. Really nice.
Has everything I usually want in a Champagne - nice amount of sweetness and zest. Perfectly balanced flavours.

Pol Roger's standard non vintage cuvée is a rich wine, full in the mouth with a high proportion of Pinots and a creamy mousse. There is a depth of flavor thanks to the considerable use of mature reserved wines in the blend. It finishes with weight combining with final acidity.
A vinous version, structured by fine acidity, with a creamy bead to the texture and a base note of minerality. Offers a full range of ripe black cherry and black currant, piecrust, pomegranate and smoke flavors. Light, bright orange. Intense, spice-accented aromas of candied orange, redcurrant and fresh flowers, with sneaky mineral and leesy notes. Supple and expansive, offering vibrant citrus fruit and red berry flavors with complicating notes of cinnamon and pear skin. Finishes silky and long, with resonating spiciness and excellent clarity. The 2004 Brut Rose Extra Cuvee de Reserve is quite fruity and vinous at first but then the minerality kicks in, giving the wine its energy and sense of focus. Crushed flowers, spices and mint unfold in the glass, adding complexity and nuance. Overall, this is a fairly delicate, feminine style of Rose that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or alongside a meal. The mousse is quite generous, indeed foamy is not over the top to describe the sensation on the mid-palate yet the clean, pure and crisp finish is decidedly refreshing. This moderately dry effort is not the most complex vintage-dated ros on the market but I very much like the style. - Allen Meadows Burghound 91 PointsThis has a relatively high dosage, producing a ripe strawberry flavor. It's full bodied, touched by a spice note, as well as some toast from bottle age. The finish shows that this a rose for food. - Wine Enthusiast Magazine 89 Points
A full, round, fruity wine with a delicate hue and subtle, complex attractive aromas both on the nose and on the palate. A relatively pale salmon pink color with an elegant nose, packed with the aromas of soft red fruit and an equally fruity palate. Harmoniously combining body and finesse, fresh and vinous at the same time.
"Bright pink with a frothy mousse. Raspberry and strawberry aromas are complicated by dried flowers and blood orange. Juicy red fruit flavors are sharpened by dusty mineral and lifted by gentle acidity. Becomes chewier with air and finishes with good grip and thrust. Plenty rich
This is an exuberant rosé Champagne that's fruit forward and full of tasty red fruits and spice on the palate. An easy sparkler to enjoy before a meal.
