Poggio di Sotto was founded in 1989 by Elisabeth and Piero Palmucci and is located in Castelnuovo dell’Abate. The estate is currently made of 33 acres. The property includes also 1400 olive trees. COLOR: Intense ruby red with some light hints tending garnet. AROMA: Intense, rich and pronounced with ethereal and spicy notes. TASTE: Vigorous, harmonious, good tannins, robust structure. TO GO WITH: It perfectly matches with game.

This incredibly rich, silky, robust Brunello is one of my favorite wines. My wife and I found out about it from a fantastic sommelier (Chris) at Seattle's Osteria La Spiga (www.laspiga.com).
