Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

User Reviews for Poggio Al Tesoro Red Blend Toscana IGT Meditérra

Winemaker's Notes:

Poggio al Tesoro is the result of a joint venture between the Allegrini family of Verona, northern Italy and American importer, Leonardo Lo Cascio. Situated in Bolgheri, on Italy’s Tyrrhenian coast, this 70 hectare property was acquired in 2001 by the Allegrini family. They brought in consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini to advise on viticulture and winemaking. 2003 was the first vintage. This wonderful wine has tremendous depth of black-red colour with a youthful purple rim. On the nose it is spicy and intense, with notes of aromatic mediterranean herbs from the Syrah adding depth to the spicy, red and black fruit characters of the Cabernet and Merlot. On the palate, the three varieties work together to produce a full-bodied, well-structured wine with plenty of fruit and lovely silky tannins. Juicy blackberry and oregano perfumes come through on the finish.
