The Poggio al Tesoro is an incredible Tuscan estate located in Bolgheri with vineyards right next to Sassicaia, a stone's throw from Ornellaia and down the road from Ca'Marcanda- Quite a neighborhood! What's even more remarkable is that they can produce a marvelous Super Tuscan wine like this 2009 Mediterra for such an incredibly affordable price. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this wine 92 points saying "Luscious, dark and penetrating, Mediterra delivers a long, velvety texture with sweet flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and plump cherry fruit. It's a wonderful drinking wine that would pair with pasta, meat or aged cheese."
