What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

The 2007 Poet's Leap Riesling made by Armin Diel of the renowned Schlossgut Diel in the Nahe River Valley of Germany. Medium straw-colored with a greenish tint, it offers aromas of fresh apples, honey, and spring flowers. This splendidly balanced wine has lively acidity, crisp spicy flavors, and excellent length. This Kabinett-styled Riesling should evolve for several years and drink well through 2015. Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate 91 Points

Bright and balanced, the 2007 Poet’s Leap Riesling is a clean, refreshing wine with aromas and flavor showcasing the purity of the grape. White peaches, honey, an appealing mineral note, and a hint of ripe apricot are enhanced by the wine’s crisp acidity and fresh, lively finish.
