Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Reserve 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

97 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a totally different beast than any other Plumpjack wine I have ever tasted because of its dark, brooding personality. In 2009 the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is paired with 21% Petit Verdot, which marks the wine to a significant degree. Smoke, tar, licorice, savory herbs and graphite are some of the many notes that burst from this extroverted, intense, totally compelling Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Wow! Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (Dec 2011)

The fun-loving and irreverent spirit of PlumpJack clearly excited the sensibilities of Gordon's close friend and business associate, Gavin Newsom. Read less
