Inky and voluptuous.Aromas of dark cherries,black berries, black pepper and vanilla. Very lush in the mouth. Really stood up to the extra spicy barbecue tri-tip I just made. I need to buy a case but it would certainly not last very long! Yummy!!

Intense, firmly tannic and richly concentrated. The flavors are built around vibrant currant, plum and floral notes, with cedar, nutmeg, chocolate and exotic spices filling in on the finish. The tannins are ripe and sturdy. Best from 2007 through 2013.
The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (a 7,500-case cuvee of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is terrific. Wonderful floral notes intermixed with blueberries, black currants, and hints of licorice and spice box are reminiscent of some of the great Villa Mt. Eden Cabernets produced here in the mid-1970s. Deep purple in color, full-bodied, with sumptuous texture and a long, concentrated finish displaying beautifully integrated acidity and tannin, this blockbuster effort should age graciously for 12-15 or more years. Kudos to Plumpjack!
Not in the same ripeness league as the '01, but still an enormously attractive wine. It's just a bit leaner, but perhaps more structured. Shows blackberry, currant, coffee, oak and herb flavors and some fairly big tannins. Nice now, but should hold and improve through 2010.
The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a dark ruby/purple hue along with a sweet bouquet of scorched earth, smoky new oak, black currants, roasted coffee beans, and a hint of leather. Blueberry and blackberry fruit characteristics also emerge from this full-bodied, supple-textured, opulent, flamboyant, sexy, seductive effort. Consume it over the next 15+ years.
Full medium ruby. Cassis, minerals, dark chocolate, fruitcake and a floral topnote on the nose. Dense and full but juicy, with highly concentrated, sweet flavors of berries, chocolate and spices. Conveys an impression of strong extract. Finishes with sweet tannins, excellent length and a peppery lift.
A rich, elegant, sophisticated style, built around a concentrated core of spicy blackberry, currant and plum flavors that run deep and earthy. This full-blown wine is packed with dense, opulent flavors and a long, lingering aftertaste. Best from 2005 through 2012.
The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a 6,250-case cuvee that tips the scales at 14.9% alcohol. Winemaker Tony Biagi told me they had 16 different passages over a 30-day harvest just to pick the fruit when the parcels had ripened. The 2003 boasts full body as well as expressive aromatics of black fruits intermixed with some smoky oak, earth, and coffee. Dense, full-bodied, and impressive with sweet tannin and gorgeous symmetry as well as depth, it should drink well for 12-15+ years. Kudos to Plumpjack!
