Plantagenet Omrah Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

The Omrah range is made at the Plantagenet winery which is located in the Mount Barker township, a sub-district of the Great Southern region in Western Australia. The area is famous for its premium quality wine production. The cool climate ensures the grapes ripen slowing and it enhances the aromatic qualities of the grapes. Cold, quick, gentle processing is the philosophy at Omrah for Sauvignon Blanc. A 20% proportion of the wine was barrel fermented and left on its lees for 2 months before blending back into the main batch to enhance mouth feel and complexity, but without sacrificing fruit integrity and intensity. The wine is pale lemon in colour with greenish lights, this wine has punchy greengage plum and gooseberry aromas with an undercurrent of lemon curd. On the palate it is supple and lithe with a fine core of crunchy acid and vibrant fruit flavours. A clean finish with lingering flavour.
