Planeta Menfi Rotwein Italien Sizilien Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOC 2003

Member Review by donloah:

While Chinon96 may be unfamiliar with the Nero nose (almost always offensive) the mouth description was SPOT on. Very poor example of nero d'avola expecially coming from such an esteemed vineyard in Sicily. Tasted like bad surgary Frappato. The whole idea of this bottle seems to toss the idea of a proud sicilian grape, nero d'avola, throw it on the ground and piss all over it. It creates such a paradox when you think that the same winery that makes a world class chardonnay also bottles this swil.

nice complexity, a little spice, long after taste. Heavy...a good fall wine.
