Pirramimma Petit Verdot Mclaren Vale 2003
Researched for eleven years before the release of the first vintage in 1994, the Pirramimma Petit Verdot vineyard was the first and is now the largest in Australia. Pirramimma Petit Verdot has won 28 show medals and has the enviable reputation of being the best Petit Verdot in Australia.
Really full bodies wine ... excellent choice with lamb and/or game.
I loved this wine. My notes are unclear as to where I purchased this wine but I suspect I received it as a wine of the month club selection from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa. This wine is a very dark purple with aromas of dark berries, baking spice, bittersweet chocolate and violets. Rich black/blueberry, baking spice, licorice, cinnamon flavors with a touch of oak. It is a big, concentrated, and complex. Firm tannins and a long spicy finish make this wine a little wild and exciting. I wish I had bought another bottle to keep in the cellar over the next couple of years
excellent wine, great with big meat meals and has a really deep colour and great taste!
Four and a half glasses
