Straw golden with a broad stream of pinpoint bubbles, aromas of creme brulee and baked apples, creamy star fruit and honeyed caramel notes linger elegantly.
This wine was a pale straw color in the glass. The nose has some nice aromas of biscuit, yeast, and minerals. Nice medium mousse on the palate with potent acidity. Citrus fruit notes throughout. Nice long finish that goes on for a minute or so. I like the way the flavors and components fit together and balance each other out in this wine. Very good, 4+ out of 5. This wine can sometimes be found on special for less than $30, which presents a great quality to price ratio.

The non-vintage Piper-Heidsieck Brut is soft but still very dry, with acidity tamed by both fine, mature fruit and a creamy texture; a very fine, tasty wine.
Tart green apple fruit flavor holds its balance through a spicy, leesy finish. Delicate and clean, crisp, without a lot of structure or weight. A refreshing aperitif.
An open, airy Champagne, backed by a brisk acidity and a tactile feel. This frames the peach, apple and citrus flavors, tightening up on the finish. Drink now through 2013.
Toasty aromas leap from the glass in this deliciously mature wine. It is soft but still very dry, with acidity tamed by both fine, mature fruit and a creamy texture that sits well in the mouth. This is a very fine, tasty wine.
A fresh, medium-bodied style, this shows finesse, with notes of apple, peach, ruby grapefruit, vanilla and toast. The refined texture and vibrant structure keep this focused and lingering, with fine length. Drink now through 2012.
Ripe pears, crisp green apples and flowers emerge from Piper-Heidsieck's NV Brut Cuvée. This medium-bodied non-vintage Champagne offers excellent persistence and a long, clean finish. It is a very solid effort at this level. The Brut Cuvée is 55% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier and 15% Chardonnay. This is lot L070921 12253, disgorged December, 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
