This wine announces its modern intentions with polished opening notes of vanilla, caramel and coffee from aging in small French oak barrels. The intense palate shows cherry and boysenberry fruit which lead into a long, very complex finish. Will gain more complexity with a few years in the cellar but may be drunk now for the appeal of its youthful fruit.
The Barbera grapes grown in the Barolo area, give full structure, plummy and complex flavour, with spicy and ripefruit, blackberry aroma and a hint of toasted tobacco. It ages quite well.

Shows blueberry and floral aromas, with hints of sandalwood. Full-bodied, with cream and vanilla character. This is tight and solid - and just right now. Drink now.
Good deep red. Wild aromas of roasted red fruits, coffee, chocolate, animal fur and minerals, plus a whiff of nutty oak. Broad, rich and round if a bit sauvage, with red fruit, smoke, earth, leather and mineral flavors saturating the palate. This solid and somewhat chocolatey barbera comes virtually entirely from "Barolo soils" in La Morra, Serralunga, Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto. No shortage of acidity on the back.
Full ruby-red. Plum, currant, black cherry, and cedary, spicy oak on the nose. Sweet, spicy and full, with good density and lovely verve. Finishes spicy and persistent.
Fruity and fun, with red currant jelly, minerals and a hint of fresh herbs. Medium- to full-bodied, with good silky concentration on the palate and a chocolaty note on the finish. Drink now.
