The 1998 Pio Cesare is a seductive barberesco. It presents tar, black fruit and flowers on the nose. On the palate is has velvety tannins with medium acidity. Flavours of cherry and spice with some minerality. Great length. Paired up wonderfully with prime rib. Still lots of life left in this one. Tasted and reviewed - Aug 10/07.

The classic Barbaresco is produced exclusively from grapes grown on the Il Bricco property. As the most current vintage on the market, the 96 Barbaresco possesses softer tannins and full forward fruit.
