Pintia Toro 2005

Discover how a unique myth in European wine culture is forged.
still young, but very juicy and concentrated
Fab wine - sniffs of cherry and faint spices, tastes great: full bodied, complex (and a little rough still) - but great with a steak, deep purple in colour, and the cherry comes through in the taste.
I, unfortunately, am no professional reviewer. I love this wine. It has a nice colour and texture; smooth. It has a lovely flavour, sweet but not overpoweringly sweet like an iced wine can be. It's able to complement desserts without drowning them out, or enjoyed after dinner on its own.

Luxurious Drinks offers you: Wine - red - 2005 - Bodegas Pintia Toro - Spain - Region: Toro - Apellation: Toro - Tempranillo - 750 ml.
Bodegas Pintia is owned by the famous estate, Vega Sicilia. The 2004 Pintia comes from a superior vintage. Similarly styled to its older sibling, it is simply more flamboyant and opulent. The temptation is to drink this heady effort now but those who can delay gratification for a few years will be amply rewarded.
Dark ruby. Brooding, very ripe, lightly roasted dark berry and plum aromas tinged by expresso, bitter chocolate and wild herbs. Warm and toasty, with a strong oak spice accent to the roasted cherry and cassis flavors. With air, exotic oak spice and leather emerge, as well as solid, chunky tannins. Finishes ripe, deep and sweet, with strong berry liqueur and coffee flavors. Seriously ripe but also nicely balanced, the fruit just this side of roasted and compellingly sweet.

Inky purple. Alluring bouquet of blackberry and blueberry preserves, cherry-cola and vanillin oak spices. Broad, fleshy and deep, with sweet flavors of dark berries, floral pastille and vanilla beans. The rich fruit nicely absorbs the oak element on the long, velvety finish. Leaves a wide swath of creamy dark fruits and licorice in its wake. Pretty sexy stuff.
Purpur. Blaubeerige Nase, sehr konzentriert.
Bodegas Pintia is owned by Vega Sicilia. Pintia is located further west along the Duero River inside the warmer D.O. of Toro. The estate owns 96 hectares of land. The first vintage released was the 2001. As for the 2005 Pintia, it is 100% Tinta de Toro aged for one year in new French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it offers a complex perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, ripe, layered wine with intense flavors, serious complexity, and exceptional length. It has enough structure to unfold for another 4–6 years and drink well through 2025.
