Winemaker's Notes:

A dense blood red, shimmering colour. Enticing, feminine perfume, Burgundian with savoury mushroom notes. The more you nose, the more comes to the fore. Silk smooth entry, but solid tannins, rounded, polished. Perfectly balanced and great depth. Spice, but also berries, violet and other florals. Great future of Burgundian complexity after maturation. Great wine. Pinotage at its peak, showing a remarkable elegance. www.beyerskloof.co.zaOne of the most famous Pinotages in South Africa--and easily the standout wine of the tasting. A big, rich and concentrated red with aromas of smoke, dark fruit and spice, it's as much Rhone as it is Stellenbosch. WSJ, 1/11/13
