Pinot Noir North County Vineyard Santa. Barbara Wine Company 2008

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Here’s a new offering from a well established region for great Pinot Noir. Located on the Santa Maria Bench in Santa Barbara County, the North County Vineyard’s closest neighbor is the Bien Nacido Vineyard. Here at the bend in California’s coastline the cool ocean air plays tug-o-war with the hot southern California sun and the grapes are the beneficiaries. Maturing slowly under the bright sun and cool breezes, growers have learned that the select Dijon clones of Pinot Noir provide the fullest array of flavors and intensity in this blustery landscape. That’s why Dijon 115, 667 and 777 are planted throughout the vineyard. The balance achieved and the rich depth of flavor in this wine begs the question, how can it be priced so affordably? We won’t ask that question, we’ll just enjoy this single vineyard Santa Barbara Pinot as often as possible. Don’t miss it.
