Pinot Noir Anderson Valley 2011

Member Review by mfdiva:

This Pinot has won me over. What a terrific bottle, tons of cherries in the mouth, very well balanced and sometimes, if you are lucky WTSO offers this for under $20. I generally find Pinot a bit overpriced for the payoff, but this one is a great exception. Beautifully crafted by the always reliable vintners at David Bruce.

Aromas of sage and a touch of wildflowers, and I would start to think this would be a very flowery Pinot until the first sip where a nice palette of raspberry and dark cherry gave me a pleasant surprise. There is some bright fruit in this glass with a good bit of acidity all leading to a pleasant strawberry finish.

Smooth, rich and creamy, with pretty toasty oak wrapped around pretty cherry and raspberry fruit. Mildly tannic. Drink now through 2006.

"David Bruce does a wonderful job channeling the coastal coolness into an elegant wine. Scents of cherries and cranberries with soft floral notes

Aromas of ripe, wild raspberry, boysenberry and wild berry give this a zesty fruit profile. Full-bodied, intense yet elegant, with a nice balance among the acidity, fruit and tannins. Drink now through 2013.

An elegant, delicate style, with a tasty core of smoky black cherry, wild berry, plum and anise. Gains depth and complexity on a long, rich finish. Drink now through 2007.

Tight and firm, with complex black cherry, blackberry, raspberry and spice framed by smoky, toasty oak. Drink now.

Opens with flavors of rose petals, black cherries, plums, and vanilla bean with hints of nutmeg. Full bodied with smooth tannins and a dry finish that consists of toasted pine nuts and spicy tones.
