What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Winemakers Notes

Hints of cedary oak and dried currant with a touch of spice. This wine is well balanced on the palate with good depth and a dry edge on the finish. This wine may be enjoyed now or over then next five years.

Nicely balanced with some black fruit, some pepper, some wood, and dry tannins. (blended with a touch of cab and petit verdot)

This is the first Merlot I've had in a few years, and I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing against Merlot per se...I just don't drink a lot of it. This had an earthy/musky nose, which surprised me. Nice berry fruits and smooth tannins made this a really easy drinker!
