Ripe pear with floral notes on the nose. Nice acidity and ripe fruit sweetness with a clean soft finish. Paired well with the spice meatballs my daughter brought for Christmas.

Pine Ridge Vineyards in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley has been growing Chenin Blanc since they started out. It’s always been a good wine for them with nice acidity and citrus flavors but they discovered that when they blend in Viognier it takes on a whole new dimension. Now the wine is wildly popular and gets rave reviews every vintage. The blend is 80% Chenin Blanc and 20% Viognier. It shows bright tropical fruit flavors like mango and pineapple along with tangy citrus that's bright and lively. This 2013 earned a Gold Medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The 2012 scored 90 points from the Wine Advocate for the fourth consecutive year!
Crisp, tart, melon, tangerine and bubble gum-like aromas jump from the glass of this 2013 Chenin Blanc/Viognier (80% and 20% respectively).
