Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc-Viognier Clarksburg 2010
Floral and sweet on the nose, the 2007 Chenin Blanc-Viognier exhibits fragrant aromas of pear, lychee and melon, with a delicate touch of grapefruit, lime and mixed citrus. Sweet, bright flavors of lively citrus and pear are offered up along with a supple texture. The slightly off-dry finish is clean and crisp, marked with notes of red grapefruit.
Citrus, grapefruit; had with poached pear salad with roquefort, dried cranberries and walnut vinaigrette
Very crisp, refreshing citrus nose and short finish. Enjoyed with spicy chicken and potatoes. Great clean finish for the price. I would not hesitate to serve with grilled fish, chicken or roasted veg. Nice change from Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
Nose is bursting with fruity overtones, reminiscent of the Sauvignon Blanc wines from the Marlborough region of New Zealand, this Californian 79/21 Chenin Blanc/Viognier blend delivers an expected excellent acid balance with a clean unoaked finish. This an excellent choice for spicy foods that require a momentary refreshing of the palate, but it lacks the lingering interest to sip on its own. However, the depth and complexity of citrus and pear flavors are surprising, deriving from a late season picking of the Viognier varietal chosen to maintain the alcohol at 13.0%. Definitely a great summer white to drink right away, faithful to prior Pine Ridge Winery vintages of earned acclaim.
Very floral and pleasantly fruity (melon, pear) on the nose, this wine's acidity is a great complement to a summer meal (think tapas, grilled spicy shrimp, etc.). I also find it easy to drink on its own. I'd serve it at a dinner party for people who might want to branch out beyond Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc/Pinot Grigio but don't know where to start.

A spicy, fruit blend, but with enough acidity top keep it dry and refreshing. The flavors range from peach to apple, to melon and lemon-lime. Long and clean on the finish.
Consistently a killer wine value is Pine Ridgersquo;s 45,000-case blend of 80% Chenin Blanc and 20% Viognier. The 2009 Chenin Blanc/Viognier offers up soaring floral notes intermixed with white peaches and apricots. This delectable, fresh, crisp, light-bodied, dry white should be drunk over the next year.
Very pale color. Lime, apricot, ripe pear and a floral note on the nose. Penetrating flavors of citrus... and melon; on the lean side but offers good acidity and cut, and decent fruit intensity. Firm finish featured honey and melon.

Winemaker's Notes - This vintage, our unique blend exhibits a bright, aromatic nose filled with crisp nuances of pink grapefruit, mango and sweet melon, interwoven with hints of soft white tea and honeysuckle. Bursting with juicy ripe fruits, the palate echoes the nose and boasts luscious flavors of Anjou pear, fresh pineapple, apricot and white nectarine. A light and slightly off-dry flavor profile lasts through the delightfully refreshing, clean finish.
2007 Chenin Blanc/Viognier is a beauty, very perfumed (flowers, melons, tropical fruits), medium-bodied, super pure, with no oak and a dry, crisp finish. Drink it over the next year.
