Pine & Post Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2005
This wine has tannins, no doubt. They hit the mouth first, for me, and with an open palm. And then an understated fruit--yes, cherry and plums (as the winemaker's note mentions). But I like this structure in this wine--so many cabs are too jammy, too full of the fruit and squish around. It's especially good with steak. Yum.

Dark ruby color leads to classic cherry aromas with notes of cedar, black pepper and grilled meats. Red cherry flavors show through accompanied by black plums, a hint of cassis, rounded out by smokiness and cedar. ripe firm tannins give good structure and weight to the wine.
