Pindarie is a family owned and operated business located on the western ridge of the Barossa Valley. After jackarooing on properties around Australia, Tony studied at Roseworthy Agricultural College, South Australia in 1985. Upon graduating he worked overseas managing sheep feedlots in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Jordan. Tony has a strong connection to the land and a love of old buildings. He believes the land should be looked after in a sustainable manner and has planted thousands of native trees and shrubs. In his spare time you will find Tony restoring the old buildings on Pindarie. Wendy was born in New Zealand into a large family on a sheep, cattle and deer farm deep in the South Island. Her love of agriculture brought her to South Australia in 1985 to study Viticulture at Roseworthy Agricultural College where she met Tony. After graduating, Wendy then worked for the next 12 years with the Penfolds Wine Group, commencing as a Grower Liaison officer and working her way up with experience as Technical Officer, Vineyard Manager and finally a Senior Viticulturist. During her working career, she travelled overseas to California, Israel, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain and Chile, to conduct study tours, work vintages, and assess vineyards for wine projects. In 2001, Wendy completed a Graduate Diploma in Wine Business. She now works with Tony managing the vineyards, mixed farm enterprises, wine business and raising three children. Read less
